MOVING WATERS:
The Colorado River and the West

The River We Know

5. Clashes and Contentions

The fifth installment is a close up of several key issues that have in the past and will continue in the future to affect regional development and conservation.  The Glen Canyon Dam, which flooded Glen Canyon, created a major impact.  The Colorado River Project (CAP), a massive water delivery system that brings river water to Arizona, leaves a strong footprint.  And the vastly altered Colorado River is a third example of conflicting forces at work.  While each of these stories can stand alone as a single tale, told together, they describe the larger story of the continual push-and-pull of interests, intentions, and intrigue that takes place throughout this watershed.  The story will be told through interviews with people on many
sides of the issues.
